Halloween means genuine Chicago Style hot dogs for the Bannockburn School kids in Del Mar Woods. For 17 consecutive years Opem Tax Resolutions and the Law Office of Steven A. Leahy, PC have sponsored the genuine hot dog stand trick or treat give away. Last year they gave out 200 hot dogs!
“It’s great to see the kids each year, and watch them grow up” said Steven Leahy, the “Hot Dog Guy” and principle attorney at the law firm. Leahy continued, “Young kids generally eat plain hot dogs, or with ketchup. As they get older, they start to add ingredients. Starting with pickles, then relish and/or onions. Finally, when they reach high school, many order the classic Chicago hot dog.” “Drag it through the garden” meaning “load it up with everything” – mustard (ketchup if you must), relish, diced onions, sliced tomatoes, sliced pickles, sport peppers and celery salt.
“Our kids stopped trick or treating some time ago” said Attorney Leahy, “but the Halloween hot dog stand has become a tradition in our neighborhood. I can’t imagine Halloween without the hot dog stand.” Everyone is invited to come by for the best Chicago Hot Dog you EVER had. The Halloween hot dog stand will be out between 4 – 10 (or until 200 hot dogs are gone). 1190 Half Day Road (right across from Bannockburn Green Shopping Center.
